Florida humidity doesn't stop at your front door — it lives inside your HVAC system too. Two different products solve two different problems, and they work in two different places: a UV light inside the air handler protects your equipment, while a REME HALO-LED® in the ductwork treats the air throughout your home. Here's the difference.

UV light → inside the air handler

Protects the coil and equipment — surface treatment where the light shines, inside the unit.

REME HALO-LED® → inside the ductwork

Treats the air throughout your home — active purification that travels with the supply air into every room.

Option 1 · Equipment Protection

UV Lights — Inside the Air Handler

Installed inside the air handler, near the evaporator coil and drain pan.

Your evaporator coil sits damp and dark inside the air handler — exactly where mold and bacteria like to grow. A UV-C light shines directly on the coil and nearby internal surfaces, helping inhibit mold and bacterial growth and the biofilm buildup that coats them.

Keeping the coil cleaner supports airflow and system efficiency and can help reduce musty, microbial odors coming from the unit.

What it is — and isn't: this is mainly an equipment and surface treatment that works where the light shines. It does not remove dust and it does not replace your air filter — keep changing the filter on schedule. Like any lamp, UV lamps need periodic replacement to stay effective.

Option 2 · Whole-Home Air Treatment

REME HALO-LED® — Inside the Ductwork

RGF's in-duct, whole-home air purification system, installed in the supply duct / plenum.

The REME HALO-LED® uses REME-LED® UV technology combined with RGF PHI-CELL® / REME® technology and bi-polar ionization. It produces low levels of hydroperoxides that travel with the supply air through the ductwork and into your rooms — actively helping reduce airborne and surface bacteria and viruses, mold, allergens, particulates, odors, and VOCs throughout the home, not just in air that happens to pass a filter.

The ionization also helps particles clump together, so your HVAC filter can capture them more easily.

Manufacturer-backed features: mercury-free LED cell · verified zero-ozone design · long-life replaceable LED cell · self-cleaning ionizers.
